Several weeks ago I drove up Pikes Peak with my best friend Eara, and Chris, one of her friends from Michigan who was visiting CO. I absolutely love spending time in the mountains, driving the winding roads with the windows rolled down and taking in the beautiful scenery that I have the pleasure of calling my backyard.

Motorcross
Lets be honest, I'm an art student. So when it comes to extreme sports and motocross I am completely clueless. Lucky for me I have a friend who has a little more experience.
I first met Daniel Olszewski in a communications class at UCCS almost two years ago and we have been friends ever since. He has been riding 18 years and when it comes to motocross, he's the expert. I joined him at Aztec Family Raceway this past week to take some shots of him and the other riders. A big thanks to Daniel for helping me pick out the most "successful" ones (since I have no clue what makes a good motocross photo).

Jaimie Dekker
Over the last year or so I have gotten to know and love Jaimie Dekker. She is the type of person that can liven up a room with just a smile or laugh. She channels this bubbly and energetic personality into every aspect of her life, especially her photography.
Since she was a little girl she has enjoyed capturing God's beauty behind the lens and has recently made it into more than just a hobby. Along with babysitting at the YMCA, Jaimie is a portrait photographer in the Colorado Springs area. In just the short time I have known her, I have watched her work grow and improve with every photo she takes. I have so much respect for her as a photographer, friend and newlywed.
If you would like to see some of Jaimie's work, check out her website here: http://jaimielynnphotography.com/
Also be sure to follow her on Facebook -- Her 365 project is amazing!
